Cool Grand Sea Serpent for Christmas?

Any YDrs going out on GSS 21st-28th December? I'm going out with GF and two friends but no idea who else will be on the boat.

As a Red Sea virgin, has been very helpful reading trip reports and other threads on YD. Would appreciate any tips or updates on boat, guides, the dreaded flight (Astraeus) etc

Cheers

Went on GSS in September doing Brothers, Daedalus & Elphinstone. Fantastic boat. It really is first class and the crew are so friendly and helpful. Loads of room so, even if the boat is full, there is plenty of space on board and you never feel crammed. Vast majority of dives off RIBs with negative entry.

You will love it - I'm sure. Flight was fairly uneventful too (also flew with Astraeus).

Can't remember the guide's name but he is the guy who normally does the guiding on Sea Serpent but was covering GSS that week.

One tip (and I'm sorry if it sounds patronising but I have no idea about your diving experience) is to make sure you are comfortable with using a DSMB as most safety stops will be in the blue and this is the only way the RIBs will track you !!

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks for comments. Please don't apologise. I've done plenty of drift diving from RIBs over here in West Wales although we tend to deploy surface marker buoy from the beginning of the dive so my mid-water deployment skills leave something to be desired . Practice makes perfect! I just can't wait!!!
