Phukhet query

Hi -this weather has really got to me! So I'm thinking that I might make a last minute dash (depart next week) to Thailand, Phukhet for some diving over the Christmas break. I know the flight's gonna cost, but has anyone used one of the dive schools in Phukhet? I'm probably looking at day trips.
Any recommendations on good accommodation?

Cheers
topshell

I'd second Phuket Scuba club too, very friendly. I'll be seeing them shortly.

Depends where you stay obviosly. Phuket is not a small island so driving from one end to the other can take some time. That said however, most of the resort areas are in the south.

Last time I was there I stayed in a house in Nai Harn not far from Chalong. Dived with Sea Bees. They have a very nice big boat complete with onboard chef to cook breakfast, lunch etc. You can find Sea Bees on the web as well as at the top of Chalong Pier road.
