Liveaboard the Similans and Richelieu Rock

Hi,

I have booked with Sharkey Scuba based in Phuket on the Somboon 4 as it has got a flexible schedule. Just wondering if anyone has been on this boat.

Kar Ling.

Nice boat, big but also lots of people. Plus: when the boat is not sailing to the nothern areas but staying at the Similans and Koh Bon, there are also daytrip guests staying on the boat, so it can get very crowded during that time.
Therefor one of the boats I normally do not recommend.

Sombbon 4

Thank you very much for the advice but unfortunately I have got a very tight schedule so it's hard to move things around (like changing boats).
Cheers,
Fish

yes the boat does get busy for two out of the five dives done daily as there are day trip customers diving off the boat as well. they have 60 dive stations onboard but rarely have this number late Jan. There are only 28 guests that stay onboard overnight and its a nice big boat so no worries there

the food is great, the staff are knowledgeable and overall its good fun. A lot of the dive centres here on Phuket "rubbish" the boat as they say that it gets crowded etc. Well it does a little but who cares when its only for a few hours of the day, you are paying less than other boats, still get great service and more importantly as you can join and leave any day of the week its great for fitting into the schedules of the rest of your trip.

You'll have great fun, don't worry about it

Most of the DC's I know book quite a few people on the boat, and do not rubbish it. From what I hear and see, I am one of the few that does prefer to book on other boats that are also flexible with their schedules.
