Croatia

I'm looking for some suggestions/ideas about croatia. Last time i was there they were shooting at each other so and i was trapped in a camper van with a 70 year old baptist preacher (long story) so i didnt really pay that much attention.

Looking to go on holiday there with my non diving partner. I'm looking for ideas of where abouts to go that will satisfy both parties; one, may be both of us, will want to go riding, one (me) will want to go diving, both of us want to do some touristy things, one (me) will want to do cultural history things, one will want to do pretty country side.

Assuming i dont get divorced first can any one make any suggestions of locations that may satisfy.

Dubrovnik & Cavtat are worth a visit for diving and non diving tourists.

Thumbs up Croatia

Gerby

Take a look at the BSAC Travel Club trip reports website. A few others and myself have posted reports on there.

The diving is typically Med, warm, clear, but not too much in the way of large fish.

However, Croatia is an enchanting place. The scenery is terrific. We stayed at what could be classed as a two star hotel with B & B for about a tenner a night. The rooms were clean if not a bit barren and small, but they were en suite.

I`d certainly go back

Steve

Not to that dive center, i never would as they were crap If the Italian guy that used to own it was back there i would return, no problems

I would certainly go back to Croatia though as its excellent and damn cheap and Vela Luka is a damn nice town Split is fantastic and i would luv to go to Dubrovnik

I am tempted to do a trip to the Island of Vaz as they have some fantastic deep wrecks and a TDI Tech dive center there

every year for a week in april the viking club goes to cavtat near dubrovnik 5mins bus from the airport. we dive with EPIDAURUM whom are very close only a short walk from the main hotels in cavtat and boy what a place to dive its lovely there. diving wise pleanty of wrecks and walls gullys and caverns lots of life they also have this amphora wreck thats locked in a huge cage that they open up and let you dive in . the citys not far and its breathtaking inside.
food is good and the bear is cheep what more do you want.
toranto wreck is great portholes still have glass in them and theres two tractors you can sit on at the bottom 60mtrs wreck starts at 28 . but what a wreck.
