Has anyone tried Aqua Sport Taba

Hi all
Me and the other half are off to Taba Egypt in April. Its a holiday, but i would like to get some diving in. Aqua sport taba seem to be the closest to the Movenpick Hotel, and was wondering if anyone had used them and what experiences thay have had?. I know i should have gone to sharm, but the club is off there in October for a weeks liveaboard, still places going if anyones interested. Red Sea Trip Oct 2008
Thanks in advance
Roger

We dived with them a while ago, 5 years ago as bethi was 11 and did her open water with them.
At the time they seemed pretty good, the kit was fine and the instructors nice and helpful. The diving of the beach ( at the Taba Hilton) was gentle and easy so perfect for kids and beginners. The boat dives were more intrepid so you could do either. Things can change a lot in 5 years so best to look for more up to date info.

we stayed at the taba Hilton in august 2004 just before the bomb incident and used aqua sport. i didn't do any boat diving just shore diving for the two weeks. they have four sites that they use for shore diving

The house reef
Black coral reef
The canyons
and new reef

The canyons was the better dive site giving you a good chance of seeing frog fish on every dive. we also saw a couple of ornate ghost pipe fish which where as cool as hell to see. I took all my own kit and it looked like the kit they had was fine, i don't recall any complaints about kit.
All the guides where fine but one guide called Mohamed stood out above the rest.
you can class the shore diving as being easy just walking in off the shore apart from the black coral reef where you have to be a bit more careful.

hope this helps

Dave
