| Looks like you only get 20Kg officially Baggage Allowance -- Singapore Airlines unless you are a memeber of the relevant club all of which reequire that you have spent vast ammounts of money in the last year (PPS value is $25,000) Sorry but have a good trip anyway, If you find you can't make the weight limit, I'll go in Turbs place and buy anything I need out there. ![]()

| Previous answers just go to show how inconsistent SA are. I went in Dec with SA to Singapore then Silkair down to Manado. I called SA and they wouldn't offer any additional free allowance, but offered a discount on the normal excess. In the end we risked it and were fine with 25kg each. I seem to recall that Silkair offer free additonal allowance for divers on the Singapore to Manado route, but can't find it now on their website. PS: Will sort lens and bits over weekend.

| Singapore airlines You can always try to fly with another airline. Malaysia airlines flies from KL to Manado directly. Flew a lot with Malaysia airlines with dive gear no probelms. Flying to KL soon (this evening) to KL with Emirates will let you know if it goes okay. Had lots of dive gear with me. Decide to leave the pony bottle last minute but bringing two first stages, laptop (I think my bag weighs nearly 35kg). Then going on to Airasia to Phuket. Kar Ling. |
