My wife and I have dived with a group of friends with St Andrews Dive Centre in Xlendi and they were very good they can also arrange accommodation and hire cars etc I am not sure if they have there own boat but they soon organized one for our group at extremely good rates:

St. Andrew's Divers Cove - Xlendi Bay/Gozo (Malta)

Scuba kings did a great job of looking after 20 of us last October, they dont have a boat, but were able to get a boat for us to use as and when required.

We dive with Gozo Aquasports

Or try George, his school is attached to the Calypso hotel. Both are within walking distance of the flat

I think if you want to dive off a boat out of season you may need to go to Malta but I could be wrong. Easy enough to do as a day trip

There are a couple of wrecks about 35m which are easy to do as a shore dive

St Andrews

Another vote. Nitrox available, and trimix if arranged in advanced. Xlendi is a lovely place to stay.
We stayed at the St Patricks hotel. 30m from hotel to dive centre, with a bar en route. Holidays do not get much better than that

This is where Sue works, Yazzy. She's there now. Arrived yesterday safe and sound. There is a link on her profile and if you want to talk to her PM her and she should be picking up messages today. I'll email her too, to confirm you were asking! But if you've got her hotmail address then contact her on that one because that's the one she uses over there.

Welcome to the Utina PADI Authorised Diving College Xlendi, Gozo

I have always used Gozo Aquasports. They don't have a boat (unless they have got one in the last couple of years, but I doubt it). Most of the diving over there seems to be shorediving. It is small enough to get from one end to the other in about 20 minutes. It might mena a couple of minutes walikg in kit, but hey - it's worht it when you get in!

Thanks to all those that replied. I now seek further clarification. The various Gozo dive centre web sites I have looked at it seems there are 2 pricing levels.
Accompanied dives and Independent dives, but if you wish to dive from a boat you pay on top of that also? So for example an accompanied dive by one of the centres is 19 euros which includes cylinder and weight belt. To go on a boat dive one has to pay an extra 25.71 euros ontop is that correct?

I have only dived abroad once on the Medas Isles and Sirena Dive centre it was just one charge including transport from hotel to harbour, is this unusual for diving abroad then?

The accompanied dive rate would be if the centre sent a DM/Instructor with you. You can also use the centre for nothing but air, and go unnacompanied. As most of the diving on Gozo is shore diving, that is what the price would be based on. Then if you go on a boat, there is the boat to pay for on top.
