I'd prefer to ask for pics of single blokes... then there is someone to carry the kit and buy the beer

(only joking before anyone takes me seriously !!)

completely agree - have been on a few trips solo to red sea and norway and had no problems at all. Have easily made friends and found buddies for future trips.

For those that dont want it to be a completely solo venture, just stick a post in looking for buddies or planned trips and see if any other YD'ers are in the area. Or at least gain as much info as possible.

2007: 161 sea dives incl shetland, north isles, lots of scapa, norway & 30 in the red sea

Hi,

I've recently returned from two weeks in Sharm. This is the 3rd time I've been there on my own and I use the local Emperor Divers setup for day boat diving.

Never had any problems, meet loads of new interesting people on the boats, in the hotel and generally bumbling about.

I tend to make more of an effort to make acquaintances when I'm on holiday on my own and quite enjoy the flexibility.

Other places I go to alone for holidays and diving are Malta (4 times).

Have also joined liveaboards for weeks diving in uk where I knew no one before hand. No problems either.

Try it out, it might just be up your street.

I came to the Red Sea for four days in 2002 on my own and bought a property - on my own. Didn't know a sole here.

I have been living here for several years - on my own.

I absolutely love it. I go diving on my own. I go on liveaboards on my own.

Yes, now I have lots of friends living here but still prefer living on my own.

I have been on liveaboards all over the world on my own.

What's wrong with me?? I have just always been independant and love the adventure of life and I'm not doing a bad job of it.

Always open to persuasion to change and living in Egypt marriage proposals come along like buses
