| Going Alone? Just a quick question, how common is it for someone to go to somewhere like Red Sea Relax alone... don't even know if this is the right place for it! I'm not intending to, someone just asked me and i was intrigued, so thought i'd pitch it here :-) Ben |

| Isn't Red Sea Relax in Dahab? Not been to that particular resort myself, but from what I've read about Dahab, it's a pretty chilled out place compared to say, Sharm. As a bloke, I wouldn't have a problem... in fact I'm off to Marsa on a liveaboard for the second time on my own in a couple of months. That said, a liveaboard is different in that traveling solo means you really can't get away from making friends (you don't know who you are going to end up sharing rooms with for a start) and you immediately become part of a group. If I was a laaadddiiiieee in a foreign country, I would make sure I had done my homework first and contacted the Resort and Dive Centre first, explaining the situation to see if they could look for dates when a group of girlies or another solo female was booked in so that there may a possibility of joining their party for extra curricular activities. | I'm not sure I would do the Red Sea on my own, unless it was a liveaboard, but even then you could end up on a boat for a week with a bunch of complete twits. I have been to Gozo on my own - my first diving holiday, about 3 months after I qualified. Pick your dive centre with care. I took pot luck with Gozo, but was lucky. I went back a couple of years later to do my IDC. Being single, i tend to go on hol with groups oo people I know. I have done two liveaboards as a single, but on both, knew many of the group before I went. Both times had a brilliant time.

If only.... On your own no problem, especially in Dahab you won't be on your own after the first few splifs.

| I have enjoyed solo live-aboards. So long as you are not a liabuility in the water or a twat on the boat, its easy to get on with other divers. Solo on land would be less fun but more relaxed. Dahab alone for a week sounds great right now ATB Mark
