really helpful? you are a real bundle of joy

Expect great diving as much as you want,
you may be lucky to see hammerhead sharks, and other fantastic fish, colourful corals ,and a chilled weeks diving

Enjoy

forgot to mention expect a dive boat, sea, and lots of other divers.

Accident in that its a club trip, i knew they were going but i wasn't due to work etc. Now im free someone asked me and without finding out any real details other than when and where and on what i said yes.

So i did no research at all but not overly bothered - compared to the delights of chepstow and the barren moonscape that is Greece for the last 2 years it'll be an improvement (not knowing each fish by name for example).

Other than the fact its the brothers i don't know the exact itinerary yet anyway and its a long way off but something to look forward to.

Im sure i'll enjoy it just had no idea what to expect. The above has helped. I like the idea of big stuff, dropoffs and so on having never seen anything like it (All my diving has been UK, the med and a bit in florida).

To be honest, if I had to dive for a whole week at the Brothers, i would love it. I did 2/3 days there last year, and could quite happily have stayed for longer.

Me too....

From other reports I've read though, I think you take in a few wrecks around Hurghada...

Keep clothing to a minimum, you will live in swimwear (take 2 sets) and could get away with just shorts and one T.shirt (plus what you travel in). Personally I like a little more BUT you really do not need an entire wardrobe.

Remember once at sea you won't have any chance to shop, so make sure you have everything you will need for the week (suncream, toiletries, basic medications, plasters etc).

Get out of bed and into the water early for the first dive, the majority of our boat wanted to sleep in till 8.00

Look to the blue, and follow the guide (if he/she ain't a nutter) for the first half of the dive.

Expect to see the odd Silky and OWT under the boat when you return, so don't get on the boat too quick.

We saw Hammers threashers silkys and OWT at the same time of year as you are going.

Great little read this, worth the download - as you've mentioned, not finished (What do you mean, you have other things do do????!!!!), but looking at the pictures of the Brothers has got me excited and looking forward to my next Liveaboard in a few weeks, although I'm doing the deep south, so won't unfortunately be seeing the Brothers...

You seem to have enjoyed Daedalus as much as I did!

Thanks for sharing... but please find the time to finish it!

Pete

My favourite on Daedalus was watching some Shark first timers get their knives, snorkels and whatever else they had to hand to wave around when six oceanics cam around on a safety stop on the north

Either that or my wifes first Oceanic encounter on the South of Elphinstone, she left the guests like a speeding torpedo (i was watching from the top deck) to do the safety stop on there own and literally jumped onto the dive deck in full kit nearly crying

Other things to do like managing three diving center's for the past two years and now partner in two with an IDC program to setup (no diving = 10Kg extra in the past 6 months ) I havent touched the water since i went with some friends to Shaab El Erg in June last year! Dolphins for 30 minutes!

Finish it? no chance why dont you make it some kind of collaborative project anyone from YD who goes their has to add something to it kind of like a scrapbook affair?

Rog

Going on a Livaboard on Friday !!

Guys, thoughts please....

Will I need to take a knife? What Kit can I leave at home? Will I have to assume that the boat has nothing?

Ooo excited...Case is packed and at 30KGs at the moment. !!

Dan
