Hi, I was on Bella for wrecks and reefs last January. It's a nice spacious boat. The crew were excellent - always ready with warm drinks when we came out of the water!
Nitrox is worth paying for if you're going to do all 4 dives each day I think.
If you like your booze then there's plenty of cold beer on board (coke and the like are free I think, but you might want to bring a bottle of spirits if that's your favourite tipple).
Several people in our group brought movies on DVD for the evenings, but during the day most time was spent reading/listening to music on deck and filling in logbooks as I recall.

You'll have a blast I'm sure!

Jonesor - sounds cool.

What' the deal with the booze? Cash or pay on credit card for the tab at the end?

it'll be done on an honesty system (put a tick in a box next to your name when you take one ) and settle up at the end of the week

The 5.5 - you'll be offered 3 or 4 dives every day and an hour or more in the water each time (Well, except for night dives, which're generally 40mins unless you really want to be in for longer) so you'll start to chill over the week and find the end of the week potentially very uncomfortable.

Enjoy the trip - 'm envious........

Mike - Good advice.

My instinct is to take both (baggage allowance permitting) - better to have something and not need it etc etc

I can always start off in the shortie then switch to the 5mm later in the day as my body 'cools'.
