This time of year either... wet is OK if boosted with a hood/top but the wind can really cut through you on the RIB / boat deck. A drysuit prevents this but adds extra hassle.... and you need to be sure of your back-up plan if you (or some other well meaning individual) split a seal. On a liveaboard if you are going down the dry option I think you really need both... if you are anything like me this will mean another pair of fins...then there's the weight issue!

If shore diving you can always get away with a problem suit by hiring kit and getting a fast repair... at sea these options do not exist.

Have a great time... we will be out in mid April... can't wait.

Richard

just a pair of speedo's should do it

I would go for the wet suit option with a hood .
but like sailorbuoy said when you get out it's going to be a bit on the chilly side bbbbrrrrrrr.

I have used a 5mm semi dry at this time of the year in the Red Sea with no problems, but I have a bit of natural Biopreen
Wish I was off. I was on the Get Wrecked itinerary last November and had a blast.
Have a great trip whatever you take.
Ricky

Did wrecks and Reefs in Feb. both of us in wet suits, although by the end of the week I had added a 3mm rash vest. Having said that I do get bored/cold when reef diving, when wreck diving, I don't notice the water temp. more interested in the metal.

Good luck with the trip, I've got to wait until October for Get Wrecked, escorted by Mike Ward.

I took my drysuit on Whirlwind in early December - people laughed at me at the start of the week - less so by the end!
I did take a 5mm wetsuit and vest to go under it just in case of problems (fortunately had enough luggage allowance for that) but it didn't even get wet! It means you are the first one in to meals too 'cos it takes far less time to get in and out of

If you do take a drysuit don't forget the talc (I had to borrow some all week because I forgot it - doh!). Also mine didn't like being hung on their hangers on the dive deck because it has permanent shot ankle weights and the weight was putting a lot of strain on the joint between the neckseal and the fabric when it was hanging. So I ended up hanging it over the railings that stop you falling down the stairs onto the dive deck from the sundeck above and tying it on if we were moving - Skez and Katie (the guides) will know what I mean!

the water is around 23 degrees C right now so diving in a wetsuit + hood is fine
have a good trip
