| It might be a bit warm for them - July shade temperature can reach low to mid 40's. If you're both diving, bearing in mind most diving is from boats, small children and dive boats are not an easy mix. Apart from that the locals love kids and it won't rain.

| I’ve taken mine before, and the Grandson is coming with us this year he’s 4 and its his second time there. I would suggest that you get a good hotel we stayed at the Hilton waterfalls, lots of pools and a small beach of sorts. Be careful when they are in the pool as the surrounding area tends to be marble it gets very slippery when wet, we got some of those jelly shoes they helped as kids tend to run everywhere. They did have a kids club there, not to sure if they still do. If they are young kids I would look at one of the better all inclusive hotels as the lunch time snacks, ice creams and drinks can soon mount up. This year we are going to El Gounaand staying at the Movenpick Red Sea Escapes - Holidays to the Movenpick El Gouna, Egypt its been recommended by some on here and its got a kids club. If you have a portable DVD player it’s a must on the plane we ended up with about 6 kids on the flight in our seats watching films, rather than trying to watch the crap that the airlines show and half the time they can’t see the screen. Lots of T-shirts and sun block. I also got him one of those snorkel vests (like a little life jacket) and a mask the hotel had a local reef and he loved it, well after a while. We also had adjoining rooms. Just remember that H&S is not what it is in the UK, no life guards, the odd fence missing, but I don’t need to tell you how to look after your kids. Go for it we had no problems Sean

| The Baron resort in Sharm has a lovely house reef and is the best hotel I've stayed in out there. Been four times and stayed in that twice and would go back anytime. However it's time the mrs and I went further south |

| I'd be really careful taking kids that young to Egypt in the summer - it is awfully hot in July. I'd probably not even take myself here at that time of year. IMO too hot for fun. Heat stroke, dehydration, sunburn plus the risk of stomach upsets - suggest not a good place for young kids. I have v. young kids and my wife & I are fairly adventurous (currently living with young kids in a moderately remote part of Japan) and I wouldn't be suggesting this particular trip! Have you considered Sardinia or Turkey or Malta earlier or later in the year? Take care Hugh |

| I have taken my kids a few times although they are slightly older than yours. I'd just echo the comments about the heat. It will be almost unbearably hot through the summer months. Egyptian belly is also unplesant in adults let alone kids and although on my last two visits i have somehow managed to avoid that particular curse i have had it and it is both painful and very uncomfortable. When my kids got it they were very miserable for the day or two that it lasted and there is little you can do to make it any better for them other than medicate. Despite the usual precautions washing hands, avoiding ice, washed salad etc etc it seems to me that there is a high chance of getting the dreaded squits and stomach cramps. Other than that the kids loved it pools, beach, snorkelling etc. Not much else for them to do though and can't comment on kids club as we have not used one. |
