Sharm Dive Centre Recommendations

I've just booked a family holiday in Sharm for April 09 for 2 weeks at the Reef Oasis Blue Bay.

The parents-in-law are coming with us & have agreed to look after the kids if Jayne & I want to go off diving

What we want to do is book a 6 day package, but dive every other day, preferably on day boats. Any recommendations for centres would be appreciated as we haven't been to Sharm for about 13 years. Anybody know if the centre at the Reef Oasis is any good or would we be better looking outside the hotel?

What's the crack for the possiblility of the Thistlegorm on a day boat?

Anything else we should be aware of?

Cheers,

Richard

It's been 12 months since I was last there but Emperor have always been pretty good.

Last time I did the Thistlegorm on a day boat it was a 3:30 A.M start !! but you did get to have a few hours sleep on the way out.

Cheers. Might have to forget about the Thistlegorm. I can't see that suggestion going down too well!!

We've used Emperor in Sharm 5 times now and they have been consistently good.

Have used Ocean College a number of times, very good. Also used Red Sea Diving College: they were good but seemed a bit keen to get two dives in then have lunch on the way back, which I thought was a bit of an unnecessary rush / reduced SI too!

Ocean College is a very well organised setup no rushing around more than adequate surface intervals etc I would always recommend them to others, I will add the wife and I have never used another dive operator in Sharm so I have nothing to compare them to except what I have been told by others that have.

emperor

another vote for emperor, they were offering buy one get one free as its their 15 anniversary or something, but you have to book online. my wife and i used them in december, once you have booked you can decide what days you dive when you are over there, good luck

In the past I've stayed at the ocean bay and shopped around for diving. I can highly recommend camel (friendly and efficient).
Both ticked all the boxes and it's well worth the early start to dive the Thistlegorm
