Yes, everyone does take euros. However, the official rate is 110 escudos to the euro. Most places give you 100. The only places that gave you 110 were those that quoted their prices in euros, so it was in their favour. The ATMs are Visa only. The only place I saw a mastercard sign was at the airport duty free shop. And if you don't do Regona and Buracoma, you've missed the best 2 dives on the island. Jason
