Does anyone have any information or experience on diving in FuerteVentura in the Canaries?

What was the town like where you stayed? I really don't like the busy, chavtastic shitholes of Playa Las Americas on Tenerife and would really like something quiet etc...

Was the diving any good?

We stayed in Caleta De Fuste. There's a couple of late night places, but it's not overly busy, or it wasn't a couple of years ago.

I guess it depends on what time of year you go, We've always gone on holiday off-season.

North of the island, corralejo and calleta is predominantly english tourists. Corra is the busiest resort with about 4 dive centres take your pick. Diving is excellent. mainlt shore based, but deep blue in caleta de fuste (now called costa caleta) have a coupla ribs out of caleta harbour and are good.

South of the island Jandia area mainly german tourists, beaches are world class and the standards are higher because the germans take no shit.

Best resort on the island is El cotillo in the north 30 mins from corra, peace and tranquillity and lots of naked people.
Btw, the island is a naturist resort, you did know that?

The full stark bollock naked scenario, in the town center beaches and infront of the big hotels most tend to stay covered up a little, but away from the main population clothing is optional. Don't get excited though it's mainly big ugly fat b4stards who put you of your breakfast with the ocaisional tasty morsel

Which of the Canaries is best for diving? I only mentioned Fueteventura as it seemed a quiet one as neither of us go clubbing etc...

However, I'm sure there are quiet resorsts on Lanzarote and Tenerife. Does anyone have recommendations for diving the Canaries in March / April time.
