| Where to go for the big stuff? We have been to the Red Sea ( Sharm & Marsa Alam) and done a couple of Red Sea liveaboards as well as the Maldives and the best we have managed is one Manta so I'm looking for recommendations for somewhere to go early June to see some of the big stuff. The missus wants more Mantas and I would love to see Hammerheads but don't think we will get both anywhere so where do you suggest? Cheers |

| Ningaloo Reef. I was out there last June. The visibility was poor as I arrived just after a storm but I still got to see plenty of mantas, turtles, reef sharks and sea snakes. Perfect time of year for the whalesharks too. |

| I have a friend working in the Maldives at the moment. Last year she was snorkelling with 60... yes 60... mantas at one time. I hate her too.

Least you only get little fish getting in the way in the North Sea.

| If you want big Mantas almost guaranteed then it has to be Kona on Hawai'i Island. I saw 6 for nearly an hour on 1 single night dive. Pretty sure they are there all year round, I was there in September 2001. Rob

| hope this works - and am pretty sure she wouldn't mind me reproducing the photo here.... They pretty much seemed to get in the way of everything!

| Mantas are one thing still on my list. I have had brief views of them, but not a decent encounter. Maldives or Soccorro Islands seems to be a good bet. For hammerheads you want Wolf Island in the Galapagos, or Cocos Island off Costa Rica.
