Question Diving in Greece ?
Hi All

Was recommended this site today, lots of info, great!

Im off to Athens in few weeks and would like to know if any one has dived near(ish)by and if they could recommend somewhere. I have seen Mykonos on the web but thats about all.

Two years ago i went to Bali, Crete hippocampos dive centre and I highly recommend it, although it was my first experience so i guess i am a little bias!

I dived in Crete a few years ago, & I'm off to a congress in Rhodes in Sept but won't get any diving there

I dived in Kefalonia earlier this year at Agia Efimia with Aquatic World. Not a great deal to see. I believe the diving around most greek islands is fairly restricted. You tend to have to dive on an organised trip.

I'm going to Rhodes next month too. The only diving allowed on Rhodes is in Kalithea Bay on the North East coast. Again, I believe it's got to be an organised trip with a dive outfit. As it's not a diving holiday, I'm not too bothered. Might go for a 'try dive'

Zakynthos looks interesting, but did I hear something about the 'English tourists' scaring all the turtles away?

Came back from diving in greece...
Well i thought id post up a reply to my own thread only two years later! I did my advanced with Blue Island Divers on Anti Paros. It was really good, nice dive center and great people with some interesting sites. I'd recommend it
