I normally use Tony Backhursts Travel Insurance which covers you to dive to 50 meters. You can pay 50% of the premium and extend it to cover you to 130 meters if you need to.
Your own dive gear is covered up to £2500. I found it was better than the travel insurance packages with some dive cover thrown in.

have just used these for our trip to Lanzarote, £35 for two of us for a week, that is travel and diving.

No depth limit, the only stipulation is within limits of training/qual or with an instructor if outside your normal limits.

Hi we have used "insure and go" Travel Insurance UK - Cheap Annual Holiday Insurance they cover diving, up to 30m, at no extra charge. And Egypt falls under their European insurance.

    Have fun

    I've used these -
Direct Travel Insurance - Great Value Holiday Insurance
Never had any problems, but never needed to claim from them.

Hope you enjoyed your trip! I know you are already out here, so can't really advise you on your insurance, but thought I would add a couple of points to note.

One thing I will say in general regarding dive insurance that we have encountered... read the small print. Your insurance may cover you to 30M, but if you are not certified to that depth they may not cover you in the case of an accident. And.. bear in mind that even if you are certified to that depth or deeper, stick to the depth limits of the area and your policy... I know of someone who came very close to having to pay for search and rescue when he accidentally dropped beyond the local limit and then started displaying signs of dcs once back on the boat.

Also, there are a few sneaky insurers who state that if your trip is specifically to dive, then they won't cover you.. they will only cover if you do a day or two during a normal holiday.. bit of a grey area in my book, and open to abuse. In fairness, these are the more normal holiday insurers who have diving included in their normal basic policy.

Anyway hope that helps anyone else reading this thread.

You would expect to pay more for worldwide cover against Europe though.
