Dive The World (Borneo) Paypal only?

Me and my misses are off to Borneo in September to dive Sipadan, I had the option of faxing my credit card details to Borneo Divers I wasn't to comfortable with that either to be honest. I think you will be fine with paypal. There's normaly a charge if you pay by bank transfere..

Faxing cc details to the back of beyond is pretty normal when booking direct with a resort / dive center IMHO. I've done it countless of times, and I rely on a few google searches to find the reputation of the place first. I'd rest assured I was in Sipadan last year and although I haven't dived with them, from my research - Borneo Divers are a safe bet.

I'd rather do that then book with an travel agency and pay over the odds - I like to make my own holiday than book a package, but that's probably just me.

In all fairness DtW were only booking the resort (Sipidan-Kapalai) for us and we were sorting out the flights (Air Asia and Malaysian Air), the reason for using an agent was that we also wanted to go to the orangutan reserve and climb Mt Kinabalu. Looking at the resorts website we can go straight to them and they also arrange the orangutan stuff so that may be a better option?

I know it's not a UK based option but Explorers seems to be about $1.5k (keyboard is Thai so no GBP sign!) more than what we'd priced up... At least the resort take credit cards directly which should give use some cover.

Will just be glad when we're there

Book direct with Kapalai instead - I did last year with no probs (unless of course you're getting a cracking deal with DtW).

We booked direct with Borneo Divers... they will also arrange the trips to the Orangutan sanctuary and any other trips you fancy..

Dive The World is competition for us. So it pains me a bit to stand up for them, but: they are no con job, as was suggested earlier in this thread

I can vouch for Borneo Divers - I have known them for over 20 years and have used them for Sipadan and Borneo...really good

Used DTW last year to book kapali resort for 5 nights,
Arranged all flights ourselves as we were touring around borneo and malaysia,
No problems with DTW, in fact the main reason I choose them was they responded in reasonable time to queries via email
Was waiting days with no response from other companies,
Cannot recommend Kapali water village highly enough, great food and accomodation,
And from what I could see, their boats were in better shape than some of the other resorts from the area,
