Hi Guys

Interesting piece of info for anyone who dives around the Thames area?

The 1,569-ton steamer BATAVIER V, owned by William H. Muller & Co.’s Algemeene Scheepy, Maats, was a Dutch ship that went down with all hands after striking a mine, 5-miles E of North Buoy, Inner Gabbard on 16 May 1916. She was transporting general cargo from London to Rotterdam, however the cargo included: 7,000 bales of rice, coffee, goods & 14 CASES OF GOLD and £5,000 in Stirling.
Hmmm Think I might take up diving again

Not sure if the Hydrographic Dept have her position, but it would be worth looking into. Only trouble is, the area has been used as adumping ground.

Cheers Ron
