| Hi all, The final phase of the Yamashiro Project is about to start. October 25th, 1944. Strait of Surigao, Leyte, Philippines. The last major naval battle of the history. U.S. Navy ships are restlessly fighting against the Japanese Imperial fleet. During this tragedy, the battleship HIJMS Yamashiro and its sistership HIJMS Fuso will be sunk, both with an important human loss, both in the same Strait. June 2006. Since a few months, a team of experienced rebreathers Divers based in South-East Asia works on an amazing project: diving the wreck of the HIJMS Yamashiro that lies at a depth about 200m/ 660 fsw, and its sistership the HIJMS Fuso. A technical and a logistical challenge at such a great depth and in such a remote location. For more information about the Yamashiro Project, please visit its website: Yamashiro Project or directly contact the team at: yamashiroproject@yahoo.com Cheers |

| Cedric, You have a bad link on your website to this excellent article that really gets at the historical issues involved and why the dives you're doing will be important in setting the record straight: FUSO Best wishes, Michael |
