Question Landing Craft Wreck, Milford Haven.

Hi. Does anyone have an accurate Lat & Long for this wreck? It is a small landing craft upside down somewhere near the Angle life-boat station, across from where the LNG terminal works are. It's in about 10 - 15m of water.

Thanks.

M.

I might have at home, I know I've done the site.

If I don't reply to you later PM me to remind me what I'm supposed to be doing (I've a memory like a goldfish).

Thanks Craig - if I don't here from you I will PM you. I've also done this wreck but it was off a hard boat and I didn't make any careful note as to where we were when we jumped off. Even having jumped off we just swam in a random direction and swam into the wreck almost by accident...

Attempting to do it again yesterday proved a non-starter. Like looking for a needle in a haystack...

Cheers,

M.

A quick serach shows there's actually seems to be a few Landing Craft Wrecks various depths around Milford Haven. However theres one listed as below( from another web site) in a similar depth range. Maybe the one?

Type:
Wreck

Nearest port/launching:
Dale 4 miles

Depths:
16 metres

Slack:
Diveable at the top or bottom of the tide.

Coordinates:
051 41 600 N
005 05 220 W

Details:
In Milford Waterway at the Esso buoy, this is a very nice dive with plenty of plumose anemones, conger and lobster.

The co-ordinates I have are from Len Bateman's (who skippers the Predator) book:

51 39 58N
05 07 02W

I think they are accurate as he's the one who dropped me on it last time.

Good luck.

Lat & Long of Landing Craft

Thanks Craig and Parahandy.

I know there are a few landing craft, inside and outside the haven. They seem to have been one of the most floating-averse types of water-craft. I'll see if I've got the chart at home and if so try those co-ordinates on it; see which one is in the right area for the wreck I couldn't find on Sunday.

I'll put both set of co-ordinates into the GPS for future reference.

Thanks again.

M.
