Sounds like a great dive Simon just wish I had been with you. I would also have used 18lt single as I did last time.

Video of HMS Stubborn

If you search on Google Video, there's an 8 minute clip of a dive on HMS Stubborn shot last May. You can download to iPod etc. Title credits 'deepdivers.org'

What about the Polynésien

All this talk about Malta's second best wreck - have none of you ever dived the Polynésien?

Let me know if you would like to know more.

Ned

Hi Ned,

The Polynesien is definitely high on my list of dives to do here. I hear its very dependent on the currents though. Will probably do it with the club sometime this summer - I heard its really impressive.

To paraphrase the late, great Bill Shankly; Impressive NO!, it's much greater than that.

If anyone would like to send me a private e-mail asking for details of this wreck - I would be happy to oblige. I shall also throw in a picture of the ship.

ned@nedmiddleton.demon.co.uk

Arguably, the greatest shipwreck for divers found anywhere!

But that's only my opinion and what would I know...

Ned

Kind offer Ned and I am sure some will take you up on it but its beyond me I'm afraid.
I assume its your book I use on my frequent visits to Malta and like you I base myself at Strand Diving.

Hello Eric

Thank you for that. Glad the book has been of some use.

Just as soon as I sell my house I shall be off to Malta for a couple of months to re-write and update it all. So, if you have any constructive (and the more constructive the better!) comments, this is one way of getting your name into the next version. That goes for anyone who would like to make a contribution.

But, before you start by listing all those wrecks which are not included first time around, many of them were not yet sunk when the book first came out - 9 years ago this month!. Other than that, fire away.

Thank you again.

Ned

Hi Ned,
I've got a copy of your book too and found it very useful. I'm Maltese and based here in Malta and would be willing to help you out in any way during your stay over here. Just drop me a line anytime.
Simon
