I've got a wonderfull account of the Royal Charter in a 60's "sub aqua guide" which recounts the story of a guy who seperated from his mate came across a lump firmly wedged in some rocks on the site(those familiar with the site will appreciate that!).He had a go at getting it out and while persuading it withhis knife came to the conclusion that it was actually gold(a bar?).Anyway the staory is he does'nt get it out, runs out of air and never manages to find it again(the sea is good at obscuring the site due to the depth etc, some days nothing other days.....who knows?).
Terry,I'm down there the weekend 7&8 June,I might pop round if you're about, you can sod off with the airlift though,I usually get paid to bugger about with them!(only joking,if I can do anything I'd love to.
Regards,Hobby.

This time you get to keep the spoils.
No need to hide them in the glove.
Keep digging.
Cheers
Bob

unfortunatley treasure is seldome on the top of the sand lying there screaming *pick me up*

so you have to dig in the sand/mud/shite to have a chance to find any

an air lift, is an underwater vacumecleaner that suckes up the sand revealing the treasure beneath (hopefull)
it is a pipe with air fed into one end, the air travles up the pipe causing a vacume/suction, you then use this suction to suck up the sand/mud that has built up over the years
