<font color='#333399'>Hi Terry [Anglesey]

Understand you are doing a bit on the Royal Charter at the moment.
Dug this old news clip out, it’s about a mate of mine [Garry]
Wondered if you were about when it took place, caused quite a stir at the time.
Makes an interesting read. Gold loaf
Cheers
Bob.

<font color='#000080'>Hiya, Bob,
&nbsp; &nbsp;Nice one! &nbsp;
Done 2 long days on Charter so far- Shifted mountains of sand,stones &amp; boulders for a total of zilch &nbsp; &nbsp;(apart from experience gained using air-lift in shallow-water - length, height of sifting table etc..-you know the score)
Fed a couple of pound coins into air-lift while I was down- got the adrenaline going around the sifting table for a few mins! Actually went OC for a couple of dives!
&nbsp;ATB,
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Terry

<font color='#000080'>We've tried it...... once on the charter which went OK and a few times on the Dakota- which usually went pear-shaped.
Usually half the group love it and the other half can't be a*sed. We also have the problem of people not appreciating the importance of returnig to the boat via the mooring -Dakota necessitates a fore and aft mooring for air-lifting and a return to the boat on the line into the tide, it only takes one to lose-it and it's game-over. As the saying goes- &quot;there's ALWAYS one!&quot;
Being as you're an Anglesey regular, check us out when you're here, you never know!.
  ATB,

hmmm &nbsp;could take a rib or 2 for cover

might know 6-10 who would be interested

hmm wonders about the practicalaties of geting 10 divers to have a go with the lift within tidal windows

Q
what would the cost be for this? and what are the practicalaties numbers wise?

<font color='#000080'>Hiya, Steve,
Are you back on your own PC after the Virus? I was expecting mail from you and just opened it, dozy-get(firewall and norton off!) Luckily I've a mate who can sort that stuff and I was back up and running the following day, for the cost of a couple of pints of Stella (expensive tastes some people!)
I'll see what the original mail to you was when I get round to it - it might have been a PM from here.
Anyway, lifting on the &quot;Charter&quot; is no prob whatever the tide, it's minimal. Main prob is the depth (or lack of it!) which makes it awkward to get the spoil away from where you're digging.
On the &quot;Dakota&quot; the spoil is irrelevant and a different technique is used- The stronger the tide is running the better it is. It's just a matter of getting used to bullying the tide. We're used to it now but first few times are a bit scary (in fact first time after a bit of a lay-off is a bit scary )
A cover-boat would be handy but it's getting other people involved which always complicates matters - especially as weekends are out-fairly booked up  with charters.
Favourite is to keep in touch and see what we're up to- we try to do something whenever the weather/chartering permits during the summer.
Currently we're removing a large steel-plate on the Dakota, depending on what's underneath we may end up concentrating on the roofing slates.
I'll try to attach a pic of a top (but swagless) day on the &quot;Charter&quot;:
ATB,
Terry

<font color='#FF0000'>I did a bit of resurch on this wreck when I was a kid, growing up in this area, and the last that I had herd was that the Liverpool archiology unit had on its second attempt nicked the lot, typical scousers.

as terry has said an airlift charter on the Dakota needs a neap tide and some fairly on the ball divers,we've done a few and its hard work as divers experince varies a lot ,on the other hand the royal charter is better on spring tides which are always harder to fill with a bookings and so would be more chance of sorting it.
the tide is virtually nowt so any one can have a go
a day out the royal charter is the one to do as with 2 , 6&quot; airlifts &nbsp;and a max depth of under 10m you can have as long as you want on it..
if ya fancy it give us a shout steve k we have all the toys for the job
