| Lost dive kit M2 Portland Hi, I know there are some honest divers out there but if anyone came across a Black Hydrotech shot belt hurtling towards you at the bottom of the M2 wreck yesterday Sunday 10th June, then could you please PM me and let me know? It happened in the morning about 10ish, my wife's belt came loose and she shot to the surface from about 30m, luckily she was ok. She also managed to lose her Oceanic reel as well at the surface which also is probably on the M2 as well now. If you picked them up then I would really appreciate it if you could let me know and I will arrange for pickup. Thank you. |

| Aye she was fine. Luckily she had another 4kg of weight in her BC, plus she hadn't incurred deco, different story otherwise!! Whacked her on O2 for 30 mins and apart from a headache she was fine. We all learned a lot that day, in particular that milliseconds count when stuff like this happens. The buddy she was with may have been thinking of the better one than 2 casualties but most likely it all happened too fast. Our DO said that if we grabbed onto her we could have slowed her ascent. One thing that made us quite angry was the fact that when she got to the surface she was waving using the diver in distress signal and the 3 or 4 other boats there that saw her, ignored her. So much for the spirit of the diving community eh? Thanks for your concern Darren!! |
