As i'm sure most of you are aware The Farne islands of the coast of Seahouses is rich in wreck dive sites, but maybe what you are not aware of is the reopening of the Beadnell Boat Launch facility. The slipway from Beadnell public car park is now being privately operated by Richard Patterson, we offer the same services as the Council provided, Tractor assisted launch and retrieval. They tell me the price is much higher than it used to be, which has upset quite a few divers and clubs.

I am currently unsure of the price that the annual ticket was in 2006, but i am sure that the 'Day Launch' price has decreased.

What we offer now -

£5 - For an Unassisted Hand Launch
£10 - For an Assisted Hand Launch
£20 - For a Day launch (Tractor Launch and Recovery)
£200 - for a Half season ticket (starting 23rd July)
£280 - for a season ticket (We were late in starting due to Problems with the transfer of document from the Council to our Hands, and so started on the 16th of may)

There is going to be a revised 'Season ticket' price for next year, this has not been confirmed yet, for those of you interested in a season ticket your comments and suggestions would be appreciated. Please also bear in mind that next year we have an additional month of operation, March till October. This year Easter fell into March meaning that (under the Council) the launch would not have been open, whereas our lease from the Council allows us to open on March 1st each year to make sure we are able to provide the service over the Easter Holidays.

Please openly discuss these matters, I will monitor all comments as it helps us to help you.

Those prices look extremely reasonable to me. Great to see that the facility didn't just disappear.
