The team of the Russian diving magazine Predelnaya Glubina has just completed (18-21 December) the mission to the 'repaired' wreck and presented some photos from the site. The English translation of captures are coming soon...

We were out there w/c 8th December and managed to get a dive in even though it was closed (ask me no questions!!).

The mooring lines come up from the sea bed maybe about 10m from the side of the wreck. On the port side they actually lie between the wreck and the train. The loops on the top of the lines are in about 25m. Our guides expressed concern about how deep a dive will be required to moor up particularly if they are then going to do a dive but I'm sure someone has thought about that.

From what I understand they have also drilled some holes in the wreck to allow the air to escape. Air that has been exhaled by the millions of divers!!!

We had difficulty explaining to our captain how the mooring lines would work but I would think that after proper publising and breifings to all the operators it should work well.

We went before the work had been fully completed and so I'm not sure about the current status.

I'll see if I caught the moorings in any of my photos and post them
