| Hi, sorry for the confusion... it's my first time diving a UK wreck... I've spent many a day blindly bimbling about in Gildy when silt-kickers have been about Fingers crossed re the vis on Sunday - will be going on Scimitar out of Portland - with people with more wreck experience than myself and shall be very careful... as interesting as seeing the bottle racks sounds I would rather do so intentionally as part of the planned dive than by accidentally bumping into them and realising I'm inside the wreck. Thanks for the comments and advice... will let you know how it goes :-) |

| It's a big wreck, so it your experience will depend where you are dropped in. The middle section is fairly broken up. IIRC the forward section is quite nice. You can see the gigantic chain off the bows and the remains of some vehicles are around there (lorries? landrovers?). Enjoy it if you get out there Cheers, Ant |

| if this is your first true UK wreck dive and the Viz is as low as has recently been reported - then think seriously about what you want to do on this dive (and whether you want to do it) - and talk it over with your buddies. "No" does not mean failure. It means you are thinking. We don't want to be reading about you at all over the weekend. Be safe.

| Hmm, not a wreck i'd advise for a first UK wreck effort at all. As others have said this is a wreck that is very easy to go into and you have to hit it bang on as the tide can be pretty fierce when it turns. There are loads of decent wrecks in the area ideal for a first UK wreck dive, I'd seriously think again. |

| Thank you for your advice (and warnings). I will discuss with my buddies who are more experienced than I regarding my ability level and the dive plan... as well as conditions and weather on the day. I am happy to say I am not the sort of diver to go for a dive I'm not comfortable with... would rather stay up and be able to dive another time than dive and be a memory. I also have no plans on becoming (in)famous for my stupidity in doing a dive beyond my ability/scope. I hope everyone has a great weekend! |

| Glad to hear that. I haven't dived the Sky for probably 25 years (!!) but I did one dive on it in <1m viz which was probably my scariest diving experience and one I don't quickly wish to repeat. Most of the time we had no idea whether we were heading into the holds or not. (Must dig out some old pix - dived it several times when it was pretty new and intact, with all the paintwork bright and clear on the bridge etc etc... Brilliant in good viz)
