Dakota

Hi,

Could anyone be of help please.

I dived the Dakota yesterday in quite grim conditions. What I would like some advice on is the slack water time relative to Liverpool for the wreck.

Next time I dive it I would like the water to stay still so I can see it properly.

Cheers

Lyv

High water slack is approx 11/2 hours before Liverpool High water in the book
there,s another slack window 31/2 hours after Liverpool Highwater.

At low water Liverpool there is no slack and the current is at its strongest with the start of the inshore flood tide being channeled between the shore and the East mouse island.
your dive was on the slack 31/2 hours after high water Liverpool as you did the high water slack off shore first .
hope that answers yer question
It was nice to get a trip out offshore in comfort for a change .
Take care

Hi Elfyn,

The dive yesterday was at 11.30 and the surface was lovely and flat calm, I was dropped in upstream and put my dsmb and drifted over the wreck. Seemed a pretty fast drift to me as it was quite dark at 14 metres. What my torch managed to illuminate as I whizzed past looked to be quite good. Would have liked to have stopped a while for a root.

Thanks for the info I shall burn it into my psyche for future use.

ps yesterday I was diving from a RIB. I wasn't on one of your boats. May be confused by your post.

Regards

Lyv

Was expecting better inshore viz given a flat week and neap tides.
think the May bloom has come a bit early.
