i was suppose to be surveying the thor off the wesh coast, out of dale last weekend. the vis was shite! about 50cm.

Did anyone else do any diving out of dale?

managed to see a squid as it was like doing a night dive, thank god i had my JMD umbilical. nice sized lobster too. other than that forget it, we went home early.

We saw the forecast and decided against bothering. The week before the vis in the haven was also 50cm or so. Just to make it more fun it looks like the plankton was starting to appear as well.

This weekend suspect it'll be even worse vis - spring tides, SW winds.

Attempted diving north of Dale last weekend (Fishguard way) and have to say I am jealous of your 50cm vis!! I couldn't even see my hands, sulk. Heard reports it's not improved over the week.

You weren't the only one... our club ran a trip to Lundy.. they got about 1meter vis.. I was glad I didn't go this time... it'll settle down soon.

I had a dive on the Dakota out of Bull Bay, Holy Island. Was a night dive beyond 5 metres in depth. I suppose the visibility was ok, only to the end of my torch beam though. Glad I had my hid umbilical, especially as it ended up being a solo (not planned).

If I go anywhere this weekend it may be Dotty, if I can get anyone interested.

Cheers

Lyv

I feel marginally better that it wasn't only me crawling about in the dark... we ended up on solo dives too....

Am back in Pembs at the weekend, but considering taking a blindfold..might improve things

I see we have an optimist here! But you're right, I should be grateful that the sea was open.... all trips so far this year been pulled And glutton for punishment I'll try again this weekend, pants vis or not!
