| Historic mark is 51 09N 01 28E she was found aground in 1939 after being depth charged by HMS Puffin and HMS Cayton Wyke then probably hitting a mine while trying to get through the Dover Barrage. Salvage was attempted on her in 1939. I have a mark at 51 09.084N 01 28.202E i have searched for a wreck here before centered on 51 09.08N 01 28.20E but have landed on the hull of an inverted and unidentified small freighter. I suspect there are 2 wrecks very close to each other here as thats what i think i was looking at on our fishfinder. The U16 was a small coastal sub 138' by 13' so about 46m long and 4m beam so damn small.I of course dropped the shot on the wrong wreck
