    Telegraph

    Jeff

Well done on the telegraph Saturday - its a biggy.

Shame the bags failed on the other one, but they are probably back down on the wreck, might get found later.

We need to revisit that wreck i think.

Also that telemotor that Dick saw should be all brass and needs investigating further. I smell a bell.

Is this going to be another blow smoke up someones ar5e or are you going to post pictures and a report, still waiting for the bell picture?

you could always congratulate him by PM

If it is a good one what about pictures and a report it would make all the difference. otherwise it's like me saying well done ash for the builders plate and positive ID, it means nothing except that someone brought something up?

It was single faced about 15" diameter. The face was gone. There was a glass window on the R side. The handle was relatively lightweight and there were 2 repeaters. The handle was stuck at Stop but the repeaters were at Full ahead.
Ship sunk in 1917. Didn't get to read the plate on the top. The one that got away was perhaps bigger?

Is the wreck a WW1 wreck? single or twin engines? or do you think one of the handles has been lost? would interesting to know how it sank, if the repeaters were at reverse was it trying to avoid a colision?

stevechesh on here has loads of information on wrecks and can give you some info on the cause

Sorry a correction required ( remember the glass was gone) after looking at your pics. Single Handle at STOP, 2 repeaters at AHEAD. Back was plain brass blank. There was another telegraph. Ship built 1906 sunk 1916 it was mined.

We were able to identify the wreck from info gained on the dive. Forgive me if I don't name it as we need to get our bags reclaimed (Its worse than terminal 5).
