    Dover's back again - 2 Bell's this week

    DOVER DOES IT AGAIN (twice!)

    The following bells were found this week with no greater depth than 24 meters using good old fashioned local diving experience! (can't buy that can you?)

    ===============================================

    This is the first bell

    Found: 8th September 2008
    Location: **secret** off Dover
    Name: **secret**
    Date: **secret**
    Recovered by: 'Vince the pirate' with a little help from his friends
    (due to ongoing investigation, more may be revealed at a later date. Unless somebody "borrows" our information, (steps have been taken to protect identities) ).

    Left to Right: Eddie - Gerry - Vince - Dave
    ===============================================

    This is the second bell

    Found: 10th September 2008
    Location: Off Dover
    Name: 'Kinston Galena' Hull
    Date: 1934
    Recovered by: Chris Mulligan and Ian Grout

    ===============================================

    That makes 4 bells this year so far from Dover alone!

    Happy diving boys!, see who can beat that!

    EDDIE,

    After having a chat and a laugh with you , I went down and saw Ian and the bell, then he showed me the photos of the pump ,,, can see now how they were still at it til 0100

    best, i get down to the lock up and sort out some decent and bigger lifting bags ....

    nice to see you guys and the goodies today ....

    Anyway, like i told you, when i've finished with my little project, I'll let ya know the SECRET LOCATION or of course the NUMBERS are available at a price.

    I wonder

    What do people use, to bring out the wording which is enscribed in a bell ?

    reason i ask , that i have a a couple of brassy shiny things and one has two words wrote on it in 3/4 inch letters , which i want to blacken...
    an ex shipwright told me this was done in the same black paint , that is used on iron cookers/stoves .... has anyone tried this ?

    Also, those of you with the donger still in place ,,,, do you have someone local to do the bell rope ?
