I'm happy to dive almost anything though there's quite a lot of shallow stuff to be going on with in the Lulworth bay area.
Going around the Bill can get a bit deeper but still loads of stuff 45m & shallower. However the problem with going round the Bill is the weather - it may be fine on the far side but getting there though the races can be rough in winter.

Do not despise the snake for having no horns, for who is to say it will not become a dragon! So may one just man become an army.

The only diving l've been doing recently is Wrayspuddle so l put 0-10 mtrs
After l'd voted l realised it was multiple choice, but by then it was too late, otherwise l may have been adventurous and voted 10-20m
well, what a busy old day we've had. . .
The Plan
Spent most of the day looking at charts, computers and hydrographic reports in the Aqua Hotel, while they served us lots of coffee and sausage and egg butties!
We have a very loose plan and a long list of marks to look at. The wrecks range from sailing ships to steamships. 99% are under the 40 metre mark , but there are a few just over. Those trips will be listed separately. . . . Some of the marks are just that...They are marks with no other info. We will endeavour to find out what they are, because they may be nothing. On the positive side, these marks are very close to some known and little dived wrecks, so we should have the option to change plan if they don't look any good on the sounder, time and tide permitting of course.....
Dates
It's late in the year and there are outstanding trips that remain in the diaries. Boats require some routine maintenance and Christmas is just around the corner. With that in mind, it looks like we will kick these trips off in the new year and we will post up some suitable dates in the near future....
It's highly likely i won't be able to make every single trip on every wreck. The skipper has all the marks, so feel free to get together and organise a trip or two if you fancy it, as i'll still be doing some of my deeper trips as well. The marks aren't secret and are available to anyone who wants them. They are in the public domain anyway. If you do organise a trip, all i politely ask is that you gather as much post dive wreck info and let us know about it......
The marks have come from a wide variety of sources, so many thanks to all that have contributed....Smudge, The Duck, June and Glynis at the Hydrographic Office, The RN
Oh, just one more thing. . . . .Does anyone have a sidescan sonar sat in the garage going cheap?.....When i say cheap, i really mean free![]()
Steve Summers wants me !
No side scan but ill chip in on the cost of hireing one if it will help.
And all depths / distances etc are fine with me but before it all gets a bit too gun ho. Anything past 60 I'd prefer a deco station return to shot dive in the interests of safety.
Id be happy to provide the station.
