A wreck diving proposal

No side scan but ill chip in on the cost of hireing one if it will help.


And all depths / distances etc are fine with me but before it all gets a bit too gun ho. Anything past 60 I'd prefer a deco station return to shot dive in the interests of safety.

Id be happy to provide the station.

Thats's fine Mark, but i'll keep this thread for the shallower ones. All of the wrecks deeper than the original 40 meters i posted, will be "advertised" separately......

Spent nearly 6 hours looking at charts and numbers today.....We "found" a good one as well in 30 odd metres.

well, you can pick up a cheapy one for £2k.....or save the cash and jump in the water. There are loads of unknowns in just 25 metres on this list.....I may even dig out a single cylinder.....now, should i take a pony or not

Like i've said for a while this is the sort of diving i'm after so i'm in even if it turns out to be a big rock just keep it less than 40 dates dependent obviously i'm there

I would love to take my diving on and learn from the YD massive. Problem is I don't have a regular buddy who is above a BSAC sport level. I would really like to get some more challenging diving in, but I need to hook up with a buddy I can trust and know and one who is similar level to me - If anyone feels the same - I am a bsac DL, diving 8 yrs and 360 ow dives with max 46m so far - mostly cold water dives in UK.

This is the thing we are trying to eliminate. I think the likelihood of just diving stones or rock is minimal, although there may not be much wreck left either! This is an example....the main content is in the last paragraph. . .

Of course this is one of the main problems - even with a sonar scan the unknown sailing ship (pick any one ) would show up as a lump with no, or at least negligible, signature of a ship. The main core is a ballast mound with scattered cargo.

Similar is the remains of the Sea Otter near the Chequered Fort in Portland Harbour - unless you can spot ballast from rocks there is nothing to suggest that a wreck exists.

At the end of the day some stuff you have just got to dive - though I'm happy with that.

However the side scan can give very good info and I'd be happy to contribute to the cost of hiring one.
