    Steve regards the wreck mark 26 @ 50 33.30N, 02 15.30W.

Both Dive Dorset and Wrecksite have it tentatively identified as the Golden Sunset.

    Hydro report wreck number 18625
    WGS84 Position: Latitude 50°33'.418 N Longitude 002°15'.546 W

If it is the Golden Sunset it should be a British Steam Drifter of 85tons at around 25m long with a 6m beam. May have had a 6 pounder gun.

Supposedly the wreckage stand 5-6 ft off the seabed and consists of a boiler and other debris.

You registered on that site too? Cracking site isn't it
I notice that they've done some work on the charts now so you can zoom in and out far more easily

Yes Wrecksite is very useful, though don't take everything as gospel - when I first started looking at the site the stern of the Black Hawk was classified as American and the bow as German (for those that don't known the two bits are several miles apart!). This has now been corrected.

The charts and hydro reports are great.

Count me in. If Rattys going I'll have to go as well, someone has to look after him.

Steve, I work for Babcocks, boilermakers to the gentry and supppliers to a lot of the UK naval/merchant fleet. We have records going back years, might be able to help with identification if we can find some details/layout/ID plates etc.

If the next 50 years are anything like the past 50 years, I'll be an old man by the time I'm 100

Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

No problem.......We have a small list of wrecks to look at, but will be discussing some ideas next Friday, where we hope to get a plan in place..
