who said it becomes less appealing ? . and if you get a decent scaffold sorted you can get a whole host of other jobs at height done. clean gutters , paint /clean window frames etc. having seen the state of some "proffesional" "guarantee backed" PV installs, DIY is a far better option.

100% agree, none of the companies I called to quote came close on the layout I did myself, some were awful

Me and it's why you make sure you get it installed by a company qualified and recommended. Nice if you can do it yourself and don't mind getting scaffolding put back up every time the nice diy job comes loose or whatever, many can't.

Are you sure it is still 43.3p
I think it may have reduced to 22p
and, will reduce again to 9p during the summer

    Please check
I may have miss-understood/ forgotten how this works as I investigated solar panels some time back ... and my roof is panel less

    if you produce 0 units, you get 43.3 x 0 = 0 plus 3p x 0 = 0

yes you are quite right, it has now been reduced, so you need to check what your tariff will now be. shame, it was great at the 43p, still some of us got it!

I too investigated this and found it was, sadly, a WOFT.

Solar panels? Help reduce usage of fossil fuels? reduce your electricity expenditure... what are you, some kind of f***in' hippy...

Burn him, burn him now and balls to the free fifty quid....

FWIW I think they are a good thing, there is a guy down here turning over his whole farm to solar panels, he thinks it is a good thing.... The sun will burn regardless of if we capture the power so it is daft not too....
