Does any one know what standard of hire gear they have? I am contemplating taking my own or hiring.

I like Ocean College staff and service.

What I don't like is their accomodation. I felt like I was stationed in an army barracks .

Will happily use them again for diving but will continue to stay in 4* star luxury at one of the nice hotels nearby when I am out in Sharm - £400 for a week of chilled out pools, jacuzzis, massages, great rooms, luxurious en-suites and excellent cuisine you can't beat it !

Glad you had a fab time out there.

Hire gear is fine...they are a well run organisation.
The hotel is basic but that is reflected in what it costs and it enables those on a tight budget to have their diving holiday!
When I win the lottery I'll get to stay in the posh ones!

the rental gear I saw all looked up to scratch to me. as for the rest of the place, yes its basic but at the end of the day I only need a clean room with a bed and shower, so it fulfills all my needs. I do enjoy staying in nice posh places now and again, but then I just find myself staying in the room too much in front of the tv with the air con on instead getting out and exploring. who wants to spend all their holiday in the bedroom? oh, actually hang on.....

I'm sure they used to have two hotels one of them much nearer to the town centre (I'm sure Stevie H will tell me I'm hallucinating), the Ocean Club is basic but doesn't pretend to be anything else (but trust me a lot more upmarket than a barracks ), it's fine if you're on a hard core diving holiday and just want a few beers before collapsing into bed.

All of which is irrelevant to the thread and the standard of the hire gear. It's hire gear.....it's basic, functional but gets a lot of use. I take my own so not really fair to comment but from what I've observed on (many) trips it looks well maintained.

Except tank o-rings!!!! If you're using an a-clamp (why?!!) make sure you take a slack handful of o-rings.

Nice pictures, thanks for letting us look. I was there in March and dived with Emperor Divers, they too are a good outfit.

Am practicing with my Oly c5050 at present so my pics are less than wonderful.

    cheers

Yeah, I've heard about this college and I suppose that it should be really pretty good. I believe that every person after school should choose where to enter on his own. As for me, this website https://www.prepler.com/best-college...communications helpd me with this a lot.
