I did manage to lose the rubber shroud that protects the clear plastic lens/bulb-holder - it just slipped off on a dive (whilst re-stowing at safety stop?). I've rolled a section of bicycle inner-tube over it to stop light spillage and to add grip for switching on/off. Mildly annoying but to no practical effect over the last 40 dives since it happened. I'd suggest a small dab of superglue could be considered at the base of the shroud.
Dave - exactly this happened to me ( and I stow the same way ).
I just want to add a cautionary note for anyone thinking about using this as a backup torch with Ni-Mh rechargeables. These batteries do self-discharge even when not in use. You can get Low Self Discharge ones such as Sanyo Eneloops but even those aren't perfect. They'd be fine in a torch that is used regularly, but if it's purely a backup you're better off using alkaline cells such as Duracell etc, or when you really really need your backup to work you might find it's dead.
The thread is really good, i find quite impressive answers to my queries in this thread, i sometimes also read your previous posts on the website and quite honestly they are so enticing that once i start i can't stop myself. https://www.topvoucherscode.co.uk/student-discount
