a polite request

I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one to notice, but once again there have been a few posts over the past few weeks where people have commented on another posters literary skills. Please bear in mind that not everyone here is an academic and believe it or not, some people have difficulty reading and writing.

Dyslexia is a common 'problem' and whilst there are computer programmes such as this:

MacSpeech - MacSpeech

not all punctuation and grammar is displayed correctly.

So, a polite request from me. If someone misspells the odd word, misses out comma's, paragraph's, and full stops etc, then cut them some slack please. It makes me cringe to read some of the replies having a little dig or a poke.

On the other hand, if anyone decides to typ3 lyk3 d1s on any posts, feel free to rip them to shreds :D

To be honest that comes as a blessed relief :)
Steve, you are quite correct - I think I have just seen the offending thread and it was unwarranted.

I know the one you are referring to, but there have been a few over the past few weeks that I've noticed.

I just thought that people would perhaps be better taking the time to read the particular post, than spending the time writing a reply having a little dig.

Oops, was so busy writing on same topic, did not see this, sorry! I agree:D
I would like to thank you stevechesh i know that you are aware of my problem and many others are I don't think you are talking about me hopefully it's someone else our use Mac speech the problem is with using that system so other people understand.
if you are dyslexic the years never been able to read anything or spell anything when you need to put the appropriate stops them,, as you can see when I speak the word,,,,, it does not spell the word it puts what you're saying-it I know it doesn't read correctly but it's complicated to explain here. the real problem is knowing when you put the words in the right text i.e. stop stop stop, commers that word my wife had to spell to me because the computer won't spell the word it just puts it in their but it's knowing when to anyway I hope I have explained it that somehow I think I'll just complicate it anyway I have very broad shoulders and anybody that is dyslexic should have broad shoulders or they should not be posting on any site safe diving everyone

Agree with you mate, although not everyone has broad shoulders like you (so that's why you sent me the photo, not just to admire your lobster ay?;). I would feel sad that people could not post on a forum for fear of being taken to task for their spelling.

well said eveyone. I am dyslexic and i know i cant spell but i what i type can still be understood by most people. i also have the problem that when useing spellchecker i cant read the right word and some times i pick rong one ( comedy is the result).
I make a joke out of my spelling and dont mind if others have a larfe over it however just because i cant spell douse not mean i dont have an opinyon or know what i am talking about (but i still might not know what i am talking about).
thanks for the thread.

What's brought on all this "let's be nice about the disslecksicks" stuff? Wot did I miss?
Hi.
I cant spell but I have erindoors a couple of feet away that can, and as for my grammar its writing posts on here have helped me a lot, I can even type with two fingers one on each hand, (The ones you pick your nose with!)...:D

Now all I need is someone to show me how to do multiple quotes. and my life will be fulfilled

I hope nobody used 'loose' when they meant 'lose'.

Frankly, anyone that confuses those two words needs shooting!

Oooh me too! How do you do multiple quotes?
tsk
there is a little button that is a quotation mark and a +, over there, on the right, next to 'reply with quote'

clicking that selects any posts and multi quotes them

:)
especially if it is followed up by 'knickers'

Same end result :D :D
