A new breathing system to allow deep sea divers to stay underwater for 10 times longer than usual was one of the North-East inventions to be recognised at an award ceremony yesterday.

The Rebreather has been created by Delta P Technology of Gateshead, using a combination of engineering and computing skills.

Aside from whether you like Delta P's products or not (I'm a not), the screaming difference is one delivered products to the customer, the other treated them like rubes and hosed them.

£77k to deliver a product vs how much is the running total to do fook all? Has it reached a million yet? Which was the best value to the taxpayer? Half a dozen Mackems in work or half a dozen Russians?
