My question today ? should we chum or bait for WRASSE in the waters around England !!!!!! Today Purple Vonny was attacked by a large WRASSE ! Yes a wrasse ! I rushed to her side as she held her bleeding finger OH the poor girl. She had not seen the sign on the wall warning of these fish ! the aquaruim owner showed with a big smile how when he waved a dead shrimp over the pool ! the fish would jump and eat. OOPS nobody had told the fish Vonny's finger was not a shrimp . Proves the point I say fiddle with fish and look what happens. So when you are next diving and feed these fish in years to come they could become more dangerous than SHARKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the waters around England could be so unsafe.:)

I think you're right Barney. A few years ago I got a Glasgow kiss from a wrasse. I think it may have been going for its reflection in my mask.

And what about that Steve Austin that got stang off a shark or something? Fish are friends? Don't make me laugh.
Wrasse are viscious. I have been attacked by wrasse on several occasions. They savagely come straight at you, right between the eyes. Some folk say they are attacking their own reflection, but I have seen the glint in their beady little eyes just before they hit, and they know just what they are doing, believe me.

I can't WAIT to show this post to my boyfriend, he's a level headed and brave guy (he climbs stuff that scares the cr*p out of me) but he absolutely hates eels and this is going to make him squirm like you won't believe. Oh, how the mighty fall. :D

Do you want to see the video?! I had to hide behind a rock so she would'nt know she was being filmed ...;)
Hey, I didn't see the miniscule sign that said "don't feel these fish". I wasn't feeding them, I was stroking them and one jumped out and SLAM, ouch, buggeration, really bit me hard. I had to pretend it didn't happen or the aquarium owner on the Cobb at Lyme might have chucked us out. I had to hold a hanky on my bleeding digit until we got out. The throbbing has just about stopped now.

If hand feeding wrasse makes them this viscious, imagine what shark feeding does. Be warned.

Glad the throbbing has stopped.:)

What size were these killer wrasse?
About the size of my computer screen. I've seen much bigger in the proper sea!!!

How bizarre, I thought you were talking about absolute monsters, not tiddlers. Even I've seen bigger ones than that - a Napoleon wrasse that was actually bigger than me*!

I guess they were used to the idea that the only thing that gets put in their tank is food. You did count your fingers, right? ;)

*Note to those who haven't met me, that's not as impressive as it might sound. :D
when im baiting fish i normally tell them they smell!

I insult their mothers, that really winds them up
Vonny, perhaps you may want to reconsider your slogan from "Tasteful" to "Tastey" :)

Ah but not highly trained SAS Ninja wrasse.....

They are well known for their dislike of veggies. Most of the bastards vote UKIP as well.

Is that where the "cuckoo" part of their name comes from? You learn something new every day....

They're the worst - the tetchy (titchy?) ones are the most irwrassible...
