hi...im looking for a car lock key specialist who can cut me a cut me a key from the lock barrell as the key is so worn it car`nt be duplicate as normal so needs to b done via the lcok....ie insert gadget into barrell and get markings off blank key then cut from there....have tried dealer but the key number they have is not the key for this yr of car......it is a plain key NO chip or fob etc.....im in whitby at the min so over to u YDers............

Could be a case of changing the lock then. I've never heard of a key specialist taken a proof from a barrel, even for an old car. But I bet there are people out there who can help.

Iam not a lock specialist but do know that the older Ford models (dont know about other makes) had there key numbers stamped on the lock barrels. The dealers could then cross refer this number in a book and cut a key using there master keys.

Hi graham...no sox not in the magpie yet....lol....mmmm iv tried the dealer but the key numa they have starts with N8xxx and not N5xxx like it should do...so they have asked me to take a lock barrell out to get numba off it.......if there is one........am contracting down here at the min... so am missing home (wallsend) loads... have`nt been away from home for this lengh of time for a while but...even more so i think their goin to extend my contract for another 3 mth....but hey im not complaning..........

it may be as cheap just having a new lock barel installed like i did last month after the old barel collapsed!

I had a similar problem a few months ago on my freelander, got auto locksmith out to the car thinking it would be as simple as taking a barrel out getting number and jobs a good one. Not that simple apparently only the ignition had all the numbers so after taking the drivers door and boot barrels out he had 8 out of ten numbers then had to use trial and error for the other two. Took him 4 hours but managed it, luckily he had quoted for the job before he started so I didn't get ripped off. Hope you get it sorted.

frist things first what car is it and does the key work to start the car if so the barrel will come out with out to much problem if you take the covers around it off turn the key on an push the pin in and then it slides out and then you should see the number

Hello all, I have a relatively new Drennan twistlock 3m landing net pole. Just recently it has stopped locking. I have taken it apart and cleaned the inside of the tube but no luck. I suspect that I am not the first to have this problem. Should i need any Lockspecialist or i can solve this problem myself. Any ideas anyone?
