I collected my wing and twinset yesterday and took it for a bimble to eccy delph today using just a single to try the wing out. The first dive was okish with the wing riding high on my back when slightly vertical and not coming down again (soft cnut that'll be what that crotch strap is for:embarassed: ), I had also left an extra block in one side of my harness that balances out my pony and KT reel (Muppet). Other than that i could see the attraction to wings. Second dive extra block taken out and crotch strap fitted of a fashion buggered if i know how it should go but it worked:teeth: Felt fantastic i was expecting to be pushed on my face at the surface (after a few know it alls in my club scaremongering) but no felt like an arm chair, once down it felt nice very comfortable and the thong feeling  i'd had on the surface went away my trim felt very flat and i was quite happy my SAC even seemed a little lower than normal:teeth: My only problems where i'm not sure i could find the lower dump if things went nipples skyward and the pull dump on the hose seems no where near as fast as my BCD which was a little disconcerting but may be just me.

Do people tie or clip their inflation hose off so it doesn't float over left arm and you end up looking for it? do wings iin general not dump as fast or is because it wouldn't have much air in it where my is probably fuller due to less lift. Next step strapping man tanks to it (twin 300b 12s) and trying that:redface: Any tips on how the crotch strap should go welcome:embarassed:

As an aside the delph has had a lot of work done and looks great but the viz was still awful first dive about 6m second dive about 3m down to less than 1m at one point causing split in future i'll drive the extra distance to capers.

Crotch strap should be attached to slot in middle and bottom edge of backplate and front of crotch strap should slide over waistbelt. Kidney dump only of use when trimmed out so if you feel you are ascending too fast then get yourself vertical in water.
Inflation hose/ trunk can be fed through a piece of bungee loop attached to your harness.

I would think it should be obvious how it fits and I am surprised with such a big wing the previous guy didn't need it because I had a very similar one on my OMS kit and without the crotch strap the wing just rides up at the back.

He said he'd never needed after first dive i couldn't see why either but there you go. I've got a long piece of webbing with a male and female clip on either end there is also a female on the waist strap the way i did it was to thread it through slot on the backplate tie a knot to stop it pulling through with the female end left there then clipped the male end into waist strap. I was wondering do i just ignore the female on the waist band and double the crotch strap up connecting both ends together around waist band or scooter ring? Never paid attention to how these are fitted on others wings having only dived with 2 people that use a wing

NO.

This isn't the same harness but it is a CD one and might give you an idea what you are trying to achieve.

Apologies for the huge pic I just took it from the CD website

I used to use a TDB, but now use a Frog Midnight. The backplate and harness are still CD though. This is what i do with my inflator . .

RE: dumping air, don't worry about the pull dumps. Just use your drysuit for bouyancy

Hi Sparky..When I had a CD wing I found that the dump hose fell naturally behind my arm... so thats where it stayed. I pulled to dump and the inflator was easy to find with my left hand on my hip...

If your on 300 bar 12's then don't use a weight belt...they will be heavy enough... You may even fing your overweighted.
I swapped to an Ali plate on 300bar 10's as found I was to heavy..12's will nail you to the bottom...especially as you have a CD stainless plate as standard.

I've yet to do weight checks a couple of people from here have offered to escort me on my first go with them in other words they're coming to take the piss on how little i know:embarassed: :teeth: :teeth: i think i'm going to put little loop on the inflator as i'm just used to it being there feels right but i shall try the underarm approach too and see how that feels. Too be honest when it fell behind my arm it was simple enough to grab and use just a little disconcerting it not being where i'm used to.

If you have the TDB with the realy long hose on it its best routed under your arm and across the chest.

Hear is how i rig it:

Tie a bungee loop to the right sholder ring (not the D ring) and have about 6" of loop. Disconect the wing inflate hose put end of hose through loop and reconect wing inflate to hold in place.

With it riged in this way there are no dangleys and it is always in exactly the same place in the middle of my chest. If you turn the dump T piece through 90 degrees so it folows the rout of the hose behind the sholder and under the arm you will find it dumps better.

I have a normal webbing harnes on my KISS but in the pic you can see the bunngee loop I use:
