Ok I'm going to book eight places (we have 6 filled) and add anyone else as they come out of hiding.
Could the interested members let me know if they require the B+B and how many nights ([email protected]) Cheers!
Ben:- Its a bit early to say exactly what we will dive but our aim will be Wallechia,Greenock (thank you Peter K) and the Akka however if anyone has a prefered wreck just let me know.

<font color='#000F22'>I'm diving the Akka on the 30th so I'll be doing a trip report immediately afterwards.

I think the spaces will go very quickly.

Well done Kev for organising. I'll be in touch about accom soon.

Your wish is my command.
The three wrecks that have been mentioned so far are:-
1 The Akka (the biggest wreck in the Clyde)
5409 ton Swedish motor vessel,Built in 1942,434ft x 56ft
twin 6 cyl engines.
Cargo:- Iron Ore
Largely intact, upright Bow section in about 16mtr
stern deck in about 24mtr.
Hazzards:- collapsing areas (decking) silt easily stirred up.

2 The Wallechia
1724ton British Steamer
Cargo:- Chloride,glassware,coal,spirits, beer and building
materials.
Lies upright and intact, collision damage to starboard bow
engine room accessible through funnel hole.
Depth 34mtr
Hazzards:- as Akka

3 The Greenock
The last time I dived this I reached a depth of 30mtr.
I seem to have mislaid the info on this wreck but I believe it to be a bucket dredger.Easily silted up and a lot smaller than the two previous wrecks.

So to dive these wrecks you need to be minimum sport diver (or equialent)
Wreck penetration only by the suitably qualified/experienced
advisable to carry a backup torch and delayed smb compulsory.

Hope this helps

<font color='#0000FF'>Deffo on the dSMB, preferably extra one or a flag too.

I believe the currents are particularly strong on some of the Clyde wrecks, according to some one-time dive buddies of mine who go to the Clyde quite regularly, however they usually treat it as an "elite trip" and seem to think that most others simply aren't up to it.

Was toying with getting my other half on board with this un, will give her a reason to get her remaining SD drills done before the end of the summer. I've been told these wrecks are quite "dark", is that true for the shallower ones like the Akka?

I've been twice before and you dont get brilliant vis on any wrecks,5-6mtrs and the gods have been kind to you.
Silt is a problem as with most rivers,Just looking at it stirs it up.As for the currents, its all about planning and slack water.
The skipper of the Clutha really knows her stuff and will keep us safe.

<font color='#000F22'>Depends on sailing time on Saturday morning.

If it's really early then Fri and Sat ... not then just Sat.

One double for me and Fi.

Thanks
