It's very useful if you're hmebuilding on a serious scale, like machining your lighthead etc., but is not going to be much use to divers making very simple designs with maglite heads. Mind you, I used it for a bit of mine, and the burn time info is quite handy, as you can get an idea of how big a battery you'll need etc. before you start the build.

Haven't seen the others, but I would imagine if they're in a similar style to the divelight companion, they will be full of the technical details to do things properly.

Vance Harlow's "Oxygen Hacker's Companion" is a "must read" for anybody considering using O2 or He at home.  It covers everything you need to know to handle oxygen, nitrox, trimix etc.

I've got the 3rd edition, but it is now available in it's revised 4th edition.

I'd recommend it!
