ok , here goes !

since i put a nice long bungied hose on my cyklons ive noticed a large difference

in how they breathe once i get below say 30 metres !!

i know that there will be a certain amount of resistance when i breathe them with

a certain amount of lag in the demand, with the hose being longer !

ive even had them propperly set up with a posiodon agent whos shop is local to

me !!

still cant get em to breath nice at depth ! like sucking mud through a straw

ive even switched over to the shorter hose at the deepest point of the dives i do,

and the left set breathe fine being a standard length hose !!

has anyone else had similar problems and did u mannage to solve them !

best wishes and thanx in advance leigh

Do you have it hoglooped or actually bungeed to the tank? If the latter, could you be geting a kink, or a very tight bend in the hose, causing just enough of a restriction to affect performance?

It shouldn't make any difference no mater what length the hose, I have dived Poseidon's with a long hose for years and never noticed any difference.
My thought is the reg is not set up correctly though Cyclones do have more cracking resistance than other Poseidon's.

comes down from the first stage and is on the side fo my cylinder lou ! no kinks

whatsoever !

i wondered if it was the lag from the first stage to the second stage demand !

it just gets very unnerving when u at depth as it is noticable the breathing gets

harder ! maybe i should let simon at stoney have a look at em after all he is the

posiodon rep ! maybe he can shed a little lite on the matter !!

that was my thought ivon ! just the lag before the 1st stage opens which unnerves me !!!

Why not swap the 2nd stages over to check whether one of them is playing up?

Could it be the interstage pressure in the 1st stage, something like that?

realistically you shouldn't notice a difference with the long hose

ivon they start acting up at about 25-30 metres !

dan ive had the regs set up by a posiodon specialist and he couldnt set them any

finer without the risk of em free flowing all the time !!

i was with him in the service bit of his shop when he had em both hooked up to

the test rig ! and they was bang on !

i had aqaulung regs before mi posiodons and they breathed well giving lots

of air! maybe its just me that cant getused to them !

but the primary reason i bought them was that they would deliver at depth !!

There shouldn't be a lag though, not even witht he long hose. think about the internal volume of the hose - sod all, even over 2m, so the drop in pressure within the hose will be almost instantaneous.

If the IP was set too low then you would stop demand, not delay opening.

Is it a delay, or is it too little gas?

i was listening to it when i was down in the pit at stoney lou ! their was a split

second where it semt like the air wasnt being fed from the fist stage then it came

through almost like it was set too low?? it has to be the hose or maybe im just so

used to the aqaulung titans which deliver tons of air its taking a lot of getting

used to em i know that !?? :teeth:

Its bollox. the 5000 is more than capable of handling depth and the long hose is a red herring. Your kit needs a service. I'd suspect its the 2nd stage poppet holder/barrel is corroded.

is that a technical term!! bollox !!

and i dont think bits corode when the regs are less than 6 months old !

i know that they are supposed to be capeable of handling diving at depth why do

u think i bought em !! and they have been looked at and set up by a fully

qualified posiodon technician !! are you a qualified technician !!

if you had read my original post i was trying to get ideas why there semt to be a

difficulty in breathing or is that bollox too ??????

thanx for your input for what it was worth !!!!!!!!!!

If you can't get on with them, change them for something else.

I used Xstreams on a a 2m bungeed hose until recently with no problems at all. Different regs though.

Leigh, PM DiverMikeD he's a Poseidon Tech. I purchased a S/H 2nd stage off him all serviced properly. It's working nice and toastie! Mike is a nice chap and VERY helpful!

If you're still not happy after I'll bite your hand off for them!
