dive computers and smart phones?

I am about to get my 1st smart phone and am thinking it wood be really cool if you could download your dive comp on to the phone. is this posable?
I have an aladin tec2g dive comp and am thinking of geting a htc desire phone. i know the phone has not got an Irda port but can you plug 1 in or is there a phone that can download the tec2g?

He's seen mine ;), and it is the canine's love eggs.
However it's replacement (announced already) had 8Gb onboard!

ah well, ive ordered a 16GB card for mine.
yes ok turb it is a cool phone and more importantly it is not an iphone.
I'm looking into a smart phone too, but I'm undecided to go iPhone vs Andriod. I think Android will overtake iPhone due to the number of devices which support it - but at the moment the app ecosystem for Andriod is lagging. Recon I should wait another 12 months???
my htc with windows mobile runs well with v-planner, but there are a few loss of functions over the complete v-planner :(
